⛈ Storm Alert

ACQUIRING…

Acquiring your location — drive to establish a heading, scanning your spot meanwhile.

Watching: —

Couldn't keep the screen awake automatically — set your screen timeout to a high value while driving.

How to use while driving (split-screen)

Storm Alert can only watch your location while it is visible — web apps get no location updates in the background. Run it in split-screen next to your navigation app:

  1. Open your navigation app, then open Storm Alert (install it from the browser menu for a cleaner window).
  2. Open Android's recent-apps view, long-press the navigation app's icon and choose Split screen (wording varies per phone).
  3. Pick Storm Alert as the second app — it starts scanning on its own.

Storm Alert keeps your screen awake and scans the weather 15 km ahead of you every minute.

iPhone / iPad notes

Storm Alert only scans while it is the visible, open app, and iPhone has no split-screen — so on an iPhone it works best on a dedicated dash-mounted device, or with a passenger holding it. On iPad, use Split View next to your maps app.

Add it to your Home Screen (Share → Add to Home Screen) for a full-screen window that keeps the alarm unmistakable.
